Scientology Recruits Immorally And Dishonestly

We're playing for blood, the stake is EARTH.
-L.Ron Hubbard, Hubbard Communications Office Policy Letter (7 November 1962)

There is no more ethical group on this planet than ourselves.
-L.Ron Hubbard, Keeping Scientology Working (7 February 1965), reissued (27 August 1980)

When somebody enrolls, consider he or she has joined up for the duration of the universe — never permit an "open-minded" approach... If they enrolled, they're aboard, and if they're aboard they're here on the same terms as the rest of us — win or die in the attempt. Never let them be half minded about being Scientologists. ... When Mrs. Pattycake comes to us to be taught, turn that wandering doubt in her eye into a fixed, dedicated glare. ... The proper instruction attitude is, "We'd rather have you dead than incapable."

The Objection
Scientology targets people in vulnerable states, and misuses the information gained in "personality tests" and in Auditing in order to gain and keep members. It's a common statement by many that only the foolish or the gullible are suckered into Scientology - put plainly, this isn't true; Scientology makes use of "front organisations" such as Narconon, WISE, ABLE, CCHR, Applied Scholastics, and many others, to attract members, and makes full use of social pressure and "hard sell" tactics every step of the way.

First Featured Video: Panorama
Below is a clip from the 1987 episode of BBC's Panorama "The Road to Total Freedom" This clip reveals some of the recruitment methods and front groups of Scientology and goes over how the confession folders of members and ex-members are used against them for intimidation and blackmail purposes.

Second Featured Video: The Bridge
The Bridge is an hour-log film about Scientology abuses. The first two minutes of the video are specific to this topic, and are composed of a leaked, internal video regarding recruitment tactics (the whole thing is pretty solid, but not nearly all specific-to-topic).
